Refereeing

I know that we have a handful of referees on here but how many of you others have taken and passed the exam that qualifies you as a referee? Did you then 'take up the whistle' and for how long (a season+ or did you give up after a few games)? Are you still participating. Basically, how was it for yo...

Re: Leceister City

A couple of things; threads have a tendency to go off in a different direction to what was originally intended/posted. Someone might has a bee in their bonnet about something or it angles off in jest etc. Lanternhall, I'm very tempted to quote your admission " I need to stop posting when I am d...

Re: Pitch

Congratulations to Colin Wilson our award winning groundsman for another first class pitch again yesterday. I did notice however that Scotsman Colin had changed his tartan /squared mowing pattern for straight line mowing across the pitch. The advantage of this I found was (from North stand terrace)...

Re: Attendance

Eastleigh's prices yesterday :- Adults £12, Concession ( Over 60 & Students) £8, Under 18 £4. According to the MoS, the attendence was 1,345. Reading their matchday thread, Hereford had sold over 500 tickets (all-ticket for them apparently). Some Eastleigh supporters weren't going to attend beca...

Re: Attendance

What a load of rubbish. Nothing wrong with 1,500 on the gate for an all-pay game. What was anyone expecting? As others have said, the admission price needs to be agreed between the 2 clubs so not an issue. I seem to remember 2 seasons back Bradford dropped their prices to £10 and got less than 2,00...

Re: Attendance

I've jut noticed that the 'East London derby', Daggers v Orient only drew a crowd of just over 2,500. Back in the day the FA Cup used to mean something. I remember in the '60's people outside of the ground selling rosettes and I think, scarves. Decent (by today's standard) crowds of 4-5k. But then w...

Re: Attendance

The ticket prices may have needed both clubs to agree as to what to charge. I'd have dropped them down a couple of quid but £10 wouldn't in my view have added another 500+ to the attendence.
