How to get the club some exra ££££

Postby Bear » Tue Sep 13, 2016 12:56 pm

There are currently only 152 Shots Fans who shop online on the Shots Trust Online Shopping Portal. I'm sure that there are at least 2,000 people who support the Shots and who regularly shop online?

Amazon, Groupon, Argos, thetrainline, John Lewis, Argos + thousand more....
Basically, anything you can buy online - the Shots Trust gets free money and it doesn't cost you a thing.

If 2,000 people all used it - we could easily raise £50,000 a year (if not more)....

Any 'Shotswebbers' who shop online but are not signed up? get your friends and family to use it to - its the elephant in the room in terms of fundraising and its really frustrating to see how few people use it when the potential is so great... I've raised £25 in 2 months and its costs me nothing....

Details here:

Everyone just seems to ignore this and I don't think people understand how easy it is and how much money could be raised... Does anyone have any ideas how to promote this better so we can reach out to 2,000 people? 152 people is a pretty poor show!

Ancient - what do you think will help? Is there any way you could help promote it? We have tried posters, programme notes, AGM announcements, stickies on Shotsweb...

Cheers Shots in Devon - Just looking at some of the free commission that has come in and its quite eye opening....

Between the 1st April and 30th June 2016 a small handful of people raised £255.48 by shopping at the following websites:

Amazon
Ebay
Moonpig
Hotels.com
123 Ink Cartiridges
Halfords
Which
Ebay
Expedia
Vistaprint

Saltrock
Claires Accessories
Debenhams
Aer Lingus
Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts
Opodo
John Lewis
GAME
Purple Airport Parking
Marks and Spencer
Screwfix
Expedia
Virgin Trains
Waitrose

This is up from £104.95 from the same period in 2015 so it is catching on slowly....

If we each got all of our friends and family to use it too then the mind boggles at how much commission could be raised.... We could easliy get that to £1000 per month if everyone on Shotsweb used it...

Spread the word and do all of your online shopping at http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/aldershottownfc

Great work SID! :)

Now up to 156 people and a total of £9,039.78. By the end of the season I would love to see us reach 1,000 people using it and hit that total of £10,000.

Anyone else going to join up today? Don't forget it costs absolutely NOTHING!

Fair play to the person who booked their summer holiday using Easyfundrasing - That one transaction alone netted the Shots Trust over £100 in commission! It shows how easy it is.....

When I tried using it, it was a nightmare, I can only guess other people had the same trouble with it.
Like all these things it's an information gatherer. Before you start screaming, my wife does use Amazon.

How odd... I've used it for years and never once had a problem - in fact I think it's actually easier shopping online than not using it! All of my family use it and they have never had a problem either - maybe its you? :P

If you would like to PM me and I will see if I can help.

Thanks for the reminder chaps. I have registered previously, but forgot to set up on a new computer. I have just re-visited the easyfundraising website, and have noticed that there is a 'donation reminder' that you can register for. This means that if you forget to access the purchase site via easyfundraising, you will automatically get a reminder at the ordering point.
So if you are selling the idea to anyone, don't forget to advise them to sign up for the reminder!

I used to be registered but i had problems with my laptop straight after downloading it.
My laptop slowed down so much, I ended up deleting it and then restoring the laptop.

Thanks Bear for pushing this

We felt like it had become a bit stale - so were resting it from the message board for a few weeks while we focused on ScratchCards (next week) and Race Night tickets.

However your message and target is so good - we have put it back on as a sticky!

(PS - also looking for really clever ways to push this in the Christmas Shopping window, when people spend more online)
