Why is it a shame. GW offered him a contract for next season if he doesn't want to play for our
great club then that's his fault. 14 squad members showed their loyalty to Gary and ALDERSHOT
TOWN. But still wish him good luck in Conf south/north.

It's a shame because I am sad to see him go. For me the best left back we had in our squad.

Good luck to him, a firm favourite.

A real shame to see him go but I imagine we couldn't guarantee him a first team spot. He'll get a decent club somewhere for sure.

Opens up an opportunity for a young, hungry left back to come in and be improved under GW and JR.

Thanks for your efforts Strakes. All the best.

Likewise, imagine GW couldn't guarantee Strakes a starting spot with Arnold playing well in his position and perhaps he wanted first team football elsewhere.

Thanks again for all your efforts, Anthony! Good luck with your next club.

Thank You Anthony. Shame to see him go, felt he was back to his best this season. His experience has proved to be invaluable this season.

Nick Arnold is more obviously suited to the right side but I won't have any issues with himself and Cheye being first choice full backs, our defence has got experience and togetherness going into next season and that would probably see us replacing Straker with a youngster rather than an experienced figure.

:?: :?: Apparently going part time because recently got his HGV licence! Havant being the most likely destination :?:

If that is the case then all the more respect to him, playing football isn't a lifelong career and at our level players need to have a plan for their long term futures. Again it is a shame we couldn't get another year or 2 from Strakes but I fully respect his decision and wish him all the best in the future.

I believe he lives down Southampton way, so that'd make sense.

Always thought the "Commander" was a great solid player who was never afraid to play. Some may disagree, particularly from his first spell with us, but to me he was class.

Sad to see you go "Commander" and wish you all the best!

What a real shame, Strakes has been a good steadying influence this season.
But something seemed to happen mid season, where he was dropped after MOM performances.
The relationship appeared to be not very happy, but Strakes was still professional.
Anyway, Thank You Anthony, for all your times with us, A Shot Forever. :(

Strakes has been a very good player for us in the 2 spells with the club. I respect his decision & wish him all the best in his future career.

Great going forward, not so good at defending, agree all wasn't well after getting dropped while playing well, but thanks Strakes you will be missed.
If you are going part time it's admirable to drop down to do that.
Good luck.

More space for another Benny.
