Goalkeeper

Postby Alex » Mon Oct 09, 2017 5:19 pm

Some of you seem to be unhappy with recent displays of Jake Cole and blame him for a few goals we've conceded. So I'm just wondering, would any of you drop him for the Cup tie against Torquay this Saturday and play Smith :?:

I'd play our strongest available team and that means if Jake is fit to play then he definitely starts for me :!:

I wouldn’t class it as dropping Jake , but I’d rotate and play Smith on Saturday. Rest for Jake and more experience for Smith.

Would definitely play Smith on Saturday. Without a reserve side he plays virtually no competitive football all season. That surely can't be good if he does need to step into the big games.

That's a good enough reason to play him!

Blimey I've only seen our home games so I can't comment on the away matches but Jake Cole is damn good keeper at this level and the best we have available. The FA Cup is our best way of making some serious money this season, though obviously we wouldn't use any of it to strengthen the team, that it seems is left for the supporters to fund. After last seasons awful defeat at home to Eastbourne we really don't want to go out meekly again.

Jake hasn't been at his best so far this season, (maybe fatherhood taking a toll) but sorry. F.A Cup games could potentially be our most important games of the season. Jake starts for me

Could have easily won 3 of those games, with a bit of luck this team is capable of winning 5/6 games in a row then we'll be in business!

Jake Cole is the main reason we reached the play offs last season and should play Saturday, we put out a
weakened team last season in the F.A. cup and lost out on important revenue. No midweek game this week
so play our strongest 11. Mark Smith will be in our u23 side this week v Reading.

Fair enough, good for him that he's playing any form of football!
