Great turn out for the Shots, 299, a sixth of the attendance.

Well done the team, management and all.

Was the tide in? Bring on the 'fax!

Great turnout from us taking 300.

Torquay has he better chances, had a couple free headers from close range that they really should have done better with, nearly got Lucky with a deflected shot hitting the post. First chance McClure came closest for us one saw the keeper another the ball, the other keeper saved comfortably as McClure tried to roll it past him then connect with a header properly.

Second half only one chance of note which was the aforementioned header. Luke Young tried the same free kick for the third game running but this time putting it wide. We won a free kick in a great position and fluffed it whilst a Mensah volley that hit the top of the stand was our only shot at goal.

Both teams had good spells in the game but didn’t have the killer instinct. No shame in drawing, Torquay are more organised than the start of the season and if they keep putting in the same effort then they will be fine this season.

Agree with this. Torquay worked very hard in the second half to close us down and created a few good chances themselves which thankfully they missed! One of which a header from what looked about two yards out looked easier to score than put it over the bar!!! but we had our chances in the 1st half so a draw was just about right. We weren't on our game today but despite that we've come away with a point.
We now haven't conceded a goal in over 6 hours of league football!

Yes a point on the road is good, chances, nein that I recall!

Just back.......Very good point as Torquay look a lot fitter, stronger and well organised than previously and have good forwards. Not surprisingly we looked tired after Tuesday's efforts with ten men for so long. Also with no Rens, Fenellon and Shaun presumably out of favour (?), we lacked fire power up front, particularly after Robert came off injured. If only Matt could finish more consistently, he'd have had a first half hat trick. Having said that, Torquay hit the post and came close. Second half Torquay edged it, missing the best chance although Bernard nearly stole it in the last ten. That would have been an injustice however.

Stand out player today for me was Will Evans who remained solid throughout.

Disapointing to not win as it always is, but a draw on the road isn't bad. Well done Shots!

Can’t imagine GW not taking Okojie if he was available rather than leaving us short on the bench. If he is so out of favour then we may as well release him. Only other possibility is that Rends or Fenelon were late withdrawals and because Okojie wasn’t in the 16 didn’t travel with the squad.

Agree with that, Torquay impressed me overall, & good luck to them for the rest of the season. I thought we battled well, and had chances, but it just didn't happen for us on the day, and a point was fair enough ! 8)

All seems a bit strange about Okojie, is he back at the club ?, fit/unfit ?, seen at the training ground ?......the mystery deepens :?:

Both injured, Rendell in the warm up.

Small squad taking it's toll, the cup game won't help, I know personally the cold weather slows me down.
I can see us putting the effort in at home and away games, as thankfully till February, other than Guiseley on the 23rd Dec, as there mostly in the South, one being Woking, so hopefully good support will drive them on.
I thought Torquay were a decent side when we played them at home, I can only think they like us get injury problems to key players, hence the poor results.

If he's under contract until summer then unless there's a 'by mutual consent' situation or a transfer (with a sell-on clause, just in case he finds his shooting boots elsewhere), he'll remain our player.

Shots started slightly better but after 15 mins Torquay changed their shape, crowded the midfield and played a high pressing game. On the short pitch at Plainmoor this gave our boys precious little time on the ball. The midweek game, half with ten men, definitely took it’s toll as we were a yard off the pace almost everywhere. But with hard graft and a little favour from the officials, it turned out to be a well-earned point.

Thought JK was excellent, Evans strong but odd bouts of mad defending IMO and Ward solid apart from the wayward kicking. Mensah and Rowe looked very off colour and BJT in pre-season shape. Torquay looking good and should stay up comfortably if Owers and Kuhl keep doing what they’re doing.

Love visiting Torquay, a proper friendly club and a great town for a jolly boys. Finished with the cocktails at 2.30am, very messy!!
