I've checked the news and there are no signs of the apocalyptic levels of violence in Aldershot that some were predicting when the friendly was announced...

I was at the ground for a while today and there was a really nice atmosphere, both inside and outside the ground.

A group of Reading fans were being really complimentary about how good the stadium is looking and especially how good the pitch is considering the challenges of the weather, Colin has done a fantastic job on it

Wow. It's almost like some people wanted there to be trouble so they could say 'told ya so'.

When the Chelsea deal comes to an end, as it surely will, I for one will be quite happy if Fulham take their place. Whether these two games, yesterday's v Reading and the other in a couple of weeks time v Sampdoria are a try-out for future season-long use or The Rec was just convenient for these two games, it was and could be in the future, much needed income for the club. That is income that we need and really can't afford to turn away.

How about Charlton or Millwall or QPR.
