Ancient Shot misread this and thought we' d signed Wilf Mannion .... who would be 100 years old this year!

Swotting up on Will.... he is well thought of and will be interesting to see how he does!

I am waiting on a post saying his goal scoring record is poor!

It'll be interesting to see who will be first choice.

Jake Cole would still be my first choice. He did well on Saturday and although I wasn't at Chesterfield from what I hear was not at fault for any of the goals on Tuesday night. To replace him at this stage would not be good for his confidence and would deny him the game time he needs to return to performing at his best

Welcome Will or is it Rob (see very end of interview). If you are half as good as Lewis last season we will be happy.
PS might be worth practicing penalties at some point (that’s taking as well as saving). :o

Jake has been given a chance already this season and been given a 1 year contract.
Jake needs to worry about Gary’s confidence in him and start performing if he wants to be number 1.
I haven’t seen Will Mannion yet but he hasn’t signed to sit on the bench surely ?

Seems unlikely that this loan would go ahead unless there was an understanding that Will would get plenty of game time. Would imagine that after last season Jake is fairly relaxed about that.

Fully understand your comments Richard, but it is hard to imagine why a Championship club would send an England Under 19 and Under 20 squad keeper to sit on the bench for Aldershot. Perhaps the situation moving forward has been already discussed with Jake Cole.

Last couple of posts are probably correct and I guess understandable but that's harsh on Jake, he is too good a keeper to be just a bench warmer.

On Paper Will looks to have even more potential that Lewis Ward, capped by England and a Hull paid a decent fee for a teenage goalkeeper. I like others think that Mannion will start on Saturday.

I don't think so - my (admittedly dodgy) memory thinks that lad was blonde.

He said he wants game time so that must be the understanding.Yes tougth on Jake but the decision has been taken. I don`t doubt that Hull were made aware of successful goalkeepers who have spent time here on loan.
