Probably got too much time on my hands, but been thinking about this too.

I think Wozza may be onto something, but I have no legal background. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that by doing it this way, when the 'big prize' is drawn there will be two people who have bought a ticket for the chance to win top prize, but won't actually be included in the draw for the top prize?

On the reducing odds I am on firmer footing, if there are 550 tickets the odds will move from 0.1818% to 0.1825% of winning if 2nd and 3rd are already drawn

There my brain gave up :-)

Maybe draw 1-2-3 and announce 3-2-1?

Going for a lie down

I think your idea for the draw should please everybody. Draw 1-2-3 and when that's done announce 3-2-1 to build the atmosphere.

I actually had exactly the same idea and suggested that to someone when I was at the club this morning.

I have seen many draws done where its 3,2,1 but if even one person is going to get upset over that then I guess if it can be done in a way that works for everyone and still keeps the excitement going then its probably the easiest way to go.

First drawn gets top prize,2nd drawn 2nd prize..etc..

Couldn't get any simpler
You don't see pub raffles,3,2,1 order

To please everybody and keep the suspense going, all they have to do is draw the first ticket and put it in a sealed envelope. Then draw and announce the rest, then open the first prize at the end. Simples!

Update :- https://www.theshots.co.uk/golden-ticket-update-13319/

”Due to feedback from the fans on our decision to hold the draw 3rd, 2nd, 1st, the decision has been taken to make the draw in the order 1st, 2nd, 3rd and to announce the the winners 3rd, 2nd, 1st.”

Smiles all around, hopefully. 👍

I well I am. Had an email from Mark about this a few days ago but wanted to make sure the club made the announcement not this board.

Best of luck to you.
Thanks ACA as you will be aware my concerns have been addressed and the draw now follows normal convention..

Now everyone, including me, can be happy and support the club.

Without ever having broken the law

The last bit I think we can all agree on.

It seems Sutton are going to do a version of your Golden Ticket.

How much does it make for your club each season?

Depends on how many tickets you sell. Ours are £100 each and it’s the first time we’ve done this.
The original target was 400. We now have sold 550+

Your club can decide the split of the money to the club and to the prize draw. We are hoping for a 10k top prize and £2k and £1k with the rest of the money going to the manager to buy players / loan wages.

550 is an impressive total. I guess we would hope to get close to 400.

With the prize fund now £13750, could we have a 4th prize of £750 now making the odds of winning even better. Just a thought.

Mark said the final target is 572 which gives a nice round figure of £10k to the winner
