First Adrian Clifton from Maidenhead now Michael Cheek, Bromley have an experienced pair there for the NL next season especially if they want to play the direct style.

We’re playing catch up yet again.
In football you never do catch up if your left with the remnants of players during the summer.
The board should of had the manager in place like Havant.

Can’t afford to do our business any earlier or offer anything better than we already do.

Unless a sugar daddy comes in we’ll always be signing the drip downs/most unwanted late in the Summer.

How come a team like Bromley, who I assume have a similar budget to us, can afford to do their business early then?

I expect them to have much more cash than us.

But, they may not...

Bromley have a very healthy budget, believe me. In fact thought they’d do better than they did last season.

Indeed, Bromley make most of their money from 3G pitch rental, clubhouse hire, sponsors and their kids soft play facility. Gate monies are largely a bonus to their budget. Definitely something we should learn from. I fully expect to see them in the playoff next season.

We wouldn’t be in the market for the likes of Cheek anyway. Why would a player come to Aldershot when they can clearly secure a contract at a higher level? Unfortunately the mess created and perpetuated at our club means we’ll be fishing in a different pool for players than seemingly better run clubs like Bromley.

Good post but when reading it carefully I do have to wonder is it really worth bothering anyone when we’re playing second fiddle to clubs like Bromley, boredom wood and certain other clubs I might have mentioned once or twice in the last 3 years or so

And there's our problem in a nutshell ; we rely to heavily on gate receipts and have nothing to rent out of any real revenue stream value (and we don't own our ground) Hopefully if we get the long lease some of these deficiencies can be addressed
,but not sure who'd be willing to invest, even then

The sort of areas that I'd hoped the Trust would focus on. Getting assets and generating income. Whether the profits are passed to the club is another matter of course, but to have any chance of the club becoming community owned at a point in the future the Trust needs money and plenty of it...

Saying it takes time for the money to be transferred from Kuwait or wherever to the UK is a very poor excuse in my opinion. My understanding is that 13 out of the last 15 months have been late. Surely they’d have figured out by now how long it takes and if you’ve given your employees a specific date of pay then you’d know when to start ensuring that you have the funds in place to actually pay them.

I’m guessing this hasn’t been resolved yet which makes it 18 days late, that is disgusting, shame one Ebbsfleet.
