Agree with all of those previous games! Many others of course, one game with the old club that I almost didn't go to due to the excess of Old Years Night was a New Years day game at least I think it was, may be wrong?!) away to Bury (clearly our local derby!). We were absolutely battered all game, had one shot on target when Randall scored I think to win the game! Loved it!
That game was New Year’s Eve 1988, our only away win that calendar year!
Indeed it was went in fancy dress with a Gorilla ,a court jester , a hunchback and i'm not telling you lot what i went as :D

Winning 2-1 at Halifax 84/85 - we were 1-0 down on 89 minutes. Think Peter Foley got the winner - pitch invasion!

Good recall Bathgate, not a game that gets mentioned often in these memory lane threads.

That Halifax day out was brilliant.
Ian Reads train got us into Halifax about 11am IIRC and we had a very nice long drink up pre game.
Yep two late goals Tin Foyle then Grandad Foley.
Young defender Chris Ampofo was excellent that day. But I think we released him not long after that game.

Bristol City - all games v them but Carl bleeding Shutt - that bloke I'll always hate, him and David Crown!

I think I’m right that Carl Shutt twice scored 90th minute equalisers against us in the FA cup in about 89 - at the rec in the original tie and in the 2nd replay. We lost in the 3rd replay.

As for happy memories, the early days of Grant Payne were pretty spectacular - I was at Enfield for his four goal debut and another hat-trick he scored a few games later (Boreham Wood?).

Going off memory....
Shutt scored in injury time in the original tie.
The first replay was 0-0
He then scored late to equalise in the 2nd replay
He then scored the only goal in the 3rd replay.
And all this to see who went to Hartlepool in the 3rd round (I think Pools beat Bristol 1-0).
I think this was all earlier than 1989 though, 1986?

Best for me was 83-84 season. The first season I really got into supporting The Shots as a youngster. There was a period of games towards the end of the season when I was expecting us to thump any team that came to The Rec.

In consecutive home games we beat Mansfield 7-1, Halifax 5-2 and Chester 5-2 and then Doncaster 2-1. Donny were right up there and I really thought after that we were going up. Sadly it wasn’t to be and we finished fifth. Great season though.

My first proper season as well, unusual for us to just miss out on promotion!

Mine too, although my first Shots game was in 1975.
