Can recommend a nice two hour stop over in Ulverston.
One stop before Barrow and much more pleasant.
The birth place of the immortal Stan Laurel ; great Laurel and Hardy Museum plus a pilgrimage to Stan's childhood home well worth the effort.

Just across from the railway station.
Believe he was half decent but I only really remember him on question of sport

They"'ve had 8 replies in one day on that thread and four by the same poster.

Know they used to be in the football league but this is another village team with tinpot support.

if average crowd size was worked out on local population we would probably be well behind Barrow.
Any tweeter would feel honored to be there, but be careful if visiting the Indian Restaurant.....

I used to have a mate called Dominic who we used to send in first to see if the restaurant was ok if it was Dom would come in and tell us to come in.

Yes always a good idea to "Pop a Dom" in when going to an Indian Restaurant

Oh very good. But look, the Barrow boys are miffed about us slagging them, to be fair it's all tongue in cheek and we'll likely lose up there anyway.

And the post on my blog was a decent write up on Barrow-in-Furness.

Let's have it right they are not in a false position and top of the league for a reason.

The surprise package, you might say.

I hope we can surprise them and ourselves next week but I'm not confident!
