TOUR OF DUTY XII - BROMLEY: 28TH MARCH

Post by EASTBANK2017 » Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:18 am

Morning All,

Following on from the postponement of the Notts County game due to there FA Trophy run.

The East Bank has decided on the back up choice of Bromley for the 12th Tour of Duty fixture on 28th March.

Details for Tour of Duty XII

🔴Train🔵

10.04 train from Aldershot, stopping off at THE SHAKESPEARE pub just outside LONDON VICTORIA. From there we will continue on the 12.40 train from Victoria to Bromley South.

🚂Train prices are as follows...

•Adult return, without railcard: £27.90
•Adult return, with railcard
or groupsave: £18.40
•Child return: £13.95

🍻Once arrived in Bromley, head into the RICHMAL CROMPTON pub which is just outside the train station.

The walk from pub to ground is 15 minutes so arrange to head to the ground about 2.30ish to avoid queuing and missing kick off!

🔴 Coach 🔵
The shots trust will be arranging coach travel for any fans who would prefer to travel that way, booking link will be sent out in due course by the trust. So please keep an eye out on here and social media platforms.

Pre match/match

Bring your flags, balloons, inflatables, anything red and blue get it in!

Be good if everyone got involved and brought something with them to contribute, get as much going on as possible...

The drum has been allowed in by Bromley and plans starting to come together our end as well.

Let’s fill the away end with bodies and colour!

Its a huge game at both ends of the table, and will be considered another important Tour of Duty fixture against a tough Bromley side. But our record there in previous years is not bad at all.

With a strong away support, it could make all the difference!

The travel is all arranged, the distance isn't long and you have long enough in advance to book the day off!

Thanks in advance
EAST BANK - ALDERSHOT

Think I might even go. Know some good clubs in Kent for a weekender plus another ground to chalk off. Is Richard Hulme reffing?

Preston's 'touristy things' probably meen Soho.

I’ll be just happy if I avoid the London Gangs and their random behaviour.
London is not a great place to be these days.
Saying that i’m not sure Nottingham would have been any better.
I’m not a City boy. Give me rural woodland any day.

Been to Notts on the odd ocasion and it alway stricks me that the one thing they seem to be short of is people. Bit like Aldershot on a busy Sunday afternoon.. and that's on Notts match day.

Just been looking at ticket prices and under 16's are free when accompanied by an adult.
That's a very generous offer and hopefully will swell our numbers on the day.

As we all know the league has been suspended meaning Tour of Duty XII has been suspended with it.

We will hopefully be able to arrange for a later date.

Any mileage in having a Virtual Tour of Duty with social distancing from home?

Photos on here of all efforts? What would we have been turning up in, banners/displays, etc.

I am quite prepared to stand in my front garden come Saturday at 2.30pm and sing some Shots songs and chants. Alas other Shots fans are unlikely to hear me but my son might be prepared to record and post my effort somehow on here.

Also could we donate to a worthwhile cause? E.g.Phyllis Tuckwell, NHS/Frimley Park, tickets for matches next season for workers there, etc. Have a massively long thread on here on Saturday with contributions as to minute-by-minute how the game is going at Bromley starting with the boys warming up beforehand? Could we-out message any previous thread on this board. We could even invite Bromley fans to contribute.

If these ideas are plain mad, I promise I will self isolate from Shotsweb until after the weekend and ask for my son's and my friends' (ex-friends?) forgiveness.

In any event, all keep safe, keep well and keep smiling.

Super Aldershot of The South!
