Raising money

Post by Surrey_Shot » Mon Mar 23, 2020 1:53 pm

Any ideas for raising money to put into the club?

I know many are struggling with bills, but wondered what the response would be if we just set up a just giving page for any fans able to contribute - whether that be £1, £5 or £20....

I know we're all in tough times, but if we'd of gone to a home game last week and spent a tenner on a drink, some food and a programme....would people be willing to donate this?

I'm happy to try and set something up if people think it would be a go-er, and actually worth while?

I don't see any harm in doing it as long as we all keep expectations very low at this stage.

People have their jobs/lively hoods at stake right now as well as concerns for their friends and family, and themselves.

However anyone that is not under some of that financial strain will probably contribute if they can.

Rather than a Just Giving page sign up to one of their 'In with a Shot' systems.. You are giving to the club and may win something yourself...and of course that 'could' be donated to the club itself. Prefer Cash For Shots myself but if it helps and you are feeling generous then go for it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the ‘Just Giving’ website take a percentage of donations?

Call me crazy but what about a scheme called something like In For A Shot, a gamble where both Club and punter could make money?

Join Cash for Shots via The Trust website. I believe The Trust have donated over £50k to ATFC over a relatively short period of time.

cash for shots does not go towards players. In With a Shot does.

Boost The Budget (Trust run) did. If the Trust purchase facilities for the Club, via Cash for Shots, to the value of £2k this allows the Club £2k more to spend on players actually £50k’s worth - just sayin’

I remember the ticket for life scheme a few(!) years ago. Cannot remember the details, but I would support that or a variation on that to get the club some immediate cash in.
