Is it no longer designated part of a public park then?

That would need a change by the council.

If I remember correctly, the reason why the Rec was supposed to be left open was so that members of the public could access the footpath running through it.

Councils are closing parks and recreation areas as folk continue to ignore requests to keep their distance. Why should the Rec be any different ?

Firstly, I have no issue with the EBB Stadium close down, nothing sinister there

Historically there was obviously a connection with the historic wording ‘Recreation’ ground

My recollections were relevance to the ‘covenants’ of use (in relation to its bequeath to the Council) including Public access to common areas including Walking of Dogs!

From memory the Ground could be ‘Locked’ off from 1300 on Match Days

Did I ever tell You the story of when I operated the ‘Free Gate’ for the first Sunday match v Bristol Rovers...(Bristol Gas!🙈😂)

Keep well, wash hands, keep 2 metres apart 👍

Lots of other football clubs are opening their stadiums for Community/NHS/Homeless use.
Why not keep it open for use by those that really need it ?
