3-0 Dartford, quite a fair result.

Fair result 3-0 to Dartford

We got what we deserved

Shocking sloppy performances from most Shots players.

Have to say we didn’t look interested.

Early season optimism in friendlies against average teams so far ‘checked’ against a better Dartford team.

Well that’s a fiver I won’t get back...

Watched the stream and views are this:

First half was ok defensively but it was our backup midfield and striker/wingers possibly minus Kandi. Edser (trialist) started really brightly but faded a bit (possibly fitness)- thought panayioutou, Rowe And whittingham were poor. Nouble for me is very clumsy on the ball - feels like an okijie type player (hope I’m wrong). Kandi looked bright and has pace (got kicked a lot and seemed to be carrying a knock)

2nd half was very poor - sendles-white Fowler and finney looked knackered (possibly not fit enough for a Saturday/Tuesday turnaround). Worrying for me was I’d put blame at finneys door for both 2nd half goals.

Rees looked promising when he came on and I think will be a fans favourite. Reece wylie also looks promising.

Jacob Berkeley agyepong had a great assiAt for 2nd goal
Bettamer tanner KLF did nothing when they came on.

Hopefully we play more like Saturday Than tonight when the season starts!

What's the point in playing these games then if they mean nothing.....?

It's all about minutes in legs. Nothing else. Shattered confidence, winning habit, enthusiastic fans, none of that matters. Role on the 3rd.

Four trialists mentioned earlier, I presume Edser & Killian were two of them, anyone know what position they played, if not who they were?

How was the actual stream etc? Anything you think we should do differently when it comes to ours?

It was a training game. They are all pre-planned sessions.
Last night was a ball recovery practice session. The players were told not to maintain procession so we would get the maximum practice time trying win it back.
The target was 50 recoveries, but we actually ended up getting 67 recoveries.
You can only achieve the target that's put in front of you and the lads won the day by comfortably beating it.
A target win is a win and overall it was a very impressive session.

If that is genuine and not a very subtle pee take (if it is hats off to you) it sums up everything i think that is wrong and why we look at the dawn of a new season like facing another struggle.

Friendlies of course dont matter but there is nothing like winning and scoring a few to breed confidence which will be key in the early stages of this season.

So we lost 3-0 to dartford but awsome we recovered the ball more times than we targeted. Never mind the fact we clearly did F all with the ball once recovered it but hey it doesnt matter because when we play better teams and it actually means something our stats on that front are ace.

We arent preparing players for premier league football where every aspect of the game is micro managed.. We are about to start the rough and tumble of the national league where you can steam roller your way to the title.

I see no signs that anything will be better. We are relying on Finney staying fit (big ask) and Fowler staying fit and now being a right back (big ask). The lad from Bromley sounds decent and we know Tanner is a good player at this level and Bettermer can hold his own but other than that i dont see much quality and the squad is thin on numbers...

Searle will be judged very quickly this season (rightly or wrongly) and after the covid break its as important as ever to give us fans something to turn up for otherwise it will turn toxic very quickly and ultimately the main thing that will suffer in those circumstamces is the clubs finances... Its quite apparent they are in a poor state as it is.

We recover the ball well though keep it up
