There's always one but I couldn't stand the bloke, if you sat in the North Stand his touchline antics were embarrassing. On the pitch his attempts to get out of the Isthmian Prem were nothing short of pathetic. Glad to see the back of him and his "dealings".

I had never really liked George Borg.
I had never spoken to him, but had observed him.
But hearing him and Graham reminisce has been a pleasure.
It is always good to hear the pride some of our past manager's are to have served our club.
As is Danny Searle

George was a terrific bloke. I had the pleasure of chatting with him on a number of occasions and he would have made a great comedian. When he was banned from the touch line, he used to stand with a group of us who went togather, which included my mum, whose used to provide the match sweets. He used to have his fair share and when he shouted out instructions and let out a swear word, he immediately turned to my mum and apologised. Luckily my mum was no shrinking violet!

He was a straight talking bloke who said what he thought which wasn't maybe for everyone but I liked him then and still do.

He was also exactly the manager that we needed at the time to take us on the next step of the journey which he did, just as after him Terry Brown was the the right manager to take us the next step and then Gary Waddock to take the ultimate step. Each one was right for the time and the step up in level that they achieved.

I always found George to a very approachable bloke especially the season in which we only played 41 league games & sitting in the away dressing room at heybridge swift’s drinking bottles of beer 🍺 a very straight talking man

How many episodes are there going to be in the George Borg series?

I tend to prefer to wait until they are all uploaded and watch them in one go.
I think it will be six episodes. Episode 4 should be on very shortly.

I liked George - I met and had a long talk at an away game with him once. He took the trouble to speak to the fans who had made the effort. I wonder how many of you were shouting for him to get out and resign at the home dressing window when he left, however?

The one thing I learned from George was, NEVER try to out drink him on Gin & Tonics !!

Along with Brownie, certainly one of my top Shots Managers, both always had time for a beer and chat. Think George had a bit of the Arthur Dayley's about him !!!

A great watch. Brings it home again just how great Abbo was.

would love him as an interim if DS goes as this club needs kick of energy..
used to occasionally stand near dugout at away games back in the Ryman and the pantomime was shear comedy, it made the journey round the m25 worth it!

was at that Bromley game when ,right in front of us Abbo was deliberately and violently taken out by the touchline with ball 5 metres away.. such was the low standard of officiating in those days that the culprit was only given a yellow. Latterly obviously abbo was sent off as the bromley bashers done their number on him.

I was close to it too and well remember that "challenge" on Abbo - absolutely disgraceful, more of an assault than anything else.
