Barnet - Simon Bassey
So Simon Bassey is the new First Team Coach at Barnet (For now).

Could be a good appointment for them as he is a very good coach, along with Dave Anderson as his number two I think they should make a difference though hopefully not until after we have played them. on the 17th. Mind you their supporters don't seem very impressed: http://188.121.55.146/forum/viewtopic.p ... c5398f0f38 They seem convinced that Simon will become the number two under Neil Ardley who they are similarly convinced will become their manager in the summer.
Interesting Q & A with their chairman Tony Kleanthous on the reasons for their current situation.

Seems he blames the poor player recruitment on him allowing the manager to do it instead of him. It usually is the manager that recruits players so he has a different view on this to the normal way of doing things. Mind you with the mess Tim Flowers made of it perhaps TK is right.

It’s odd that his title is first team coach and not head coach seeing as he will be leading he team and Anderson is going to be assistant coach.

I would say its the same. Some clubs prefer the word Coach to Manager and some of course have both and use the term "Head Coach", other use "First Team Coach".

1. Chairman with ego and cash that say's he's the man to pick players.
2. Club has already employed a Director Of Football, so he decides who signs or not.
3. Club has read the new FA manual of modern terminology.
4. Yet another nail in the coffin of keeping football as it was !

No it’s not the same thing! Or are you saying that Matt Gray (first team coach) was our leader?!

Your right Matt Gray was First Team Coach but Dean Holdsworth was titled manager not Head Coach so Matt could have just as easily have been called Head Coach, First team coach or head coach either title works.

If the word manager was used in the first place then it is different but when I see the words first team coach and head coach then that’s exactly the same, bit like Tottenham and spurs as an example so cease being awkward Donny theirs a good gentleman
