I doubt that the redevelopment will happen. It all seemed a bit 'smoke and mirrors' from the start. It's a real shame as with a bit of imagination and foresight, the site could be be a real money spinner as well as a community hub.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Totally agree with this post. Please, let’s just bury this fairytale, it ain’t gonna happen. Let’s concentrate on the team instead.

All the usual suspects backing each other up, a bit of speculation here and there.
Same old...... Zzzzzzzzz
It's perfectly reasonable for people to be concerned about what is going on, given the lack of information forthcoming from the Club.

In case you hadn't noticed, speculation tends to occur when reliable information is absent. Who is responsible for that?

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz to you too.

I think you're right about this.
Post lockdown and brexit most things are messed up.
Now there are knock on effects from the Ukraine war too.
Probably best to moth ball the idea until there's a bit of stability in the world.

Let’s have a statement from the club then, saying due to ‘reasons’ everything has been put on hold. Having said that, the town redevelopment is full steam ahead and there’s always money in property development- does that also include stadium (re)builds?

Agreed with this. I think we would all understand if the development was put on hold or maybe even abandoned, but just tell us ? Or tell us its all OK, and still on track for the donkey jackets to arrive in Sept. Its not difficult to just make a short statement surely.

That's a good one. A statement from the club....
Meanwhile, possibly one of our body of volunteers will know if we have repaired any leaking gutters, and improved our notoriously disgraceful away facilities.

The club should be updating their paying customers on a regular basis
Not just the nonsense talking shop what they call a fans forum.
It’s a complete joke and embarrassment the communication from the club.

A monthly update from the club regards the ground progress would be a simple way to resolve this ongoing issue.A link on the main web site??? So obvious and easy. I expect the chairmen to be readying himself for another can kicking demo soon. Meanwhile Aldershot is being rebuilt all around us.

Am firmly in the camp of believing that on face value a hold on redevelopment plans (or a partial redevelopment) would be prudent given the rise in building material costs.
My only concerns are regarding the lease.

Ive heard on the grapevine that Boris Johnson has been offered the job, once he has moved out of the hot seat to lead the communication on the lease and redevelopment. He will be sending out a questionnaire to all supporters on the redevelopment and will be holding a party to celebrate the signing of the lease........

Of course the ground will be redeveloped!!!
Build costs may of gone up but also the delay gives time for the club to look at ways of maximising the development opportunity, designing a more sustainable developed venue and to look at further joint funding areas.
I would hazard a guess and hope, that the club are maybe nearer the start point than most believe.

Interesting thoughts Brian. That would be a perfect way for the club to explain at forums, not that the building will start in September etc etc

Total lack of any update leads to speculation. Building costs have spiralled. We have lost the Hotel development. We are left to assume that the accommodation scheduled to be built at the rear of the ground will completed, presuming the access has been sorted. But we don’t know, do we?. Throw us a snippet of information, not much to ask, or is it?
