Re: Ryan Glover - 2 year deal
Wow the pessimism before a ball has been kicked is unbelievable!!!! Ryan was one of our better performers and has said he played with a hernia all last season. Derby fans wanted him signed up there so can’t be that bad.
I agree we need a cm and I notice the number 8 shirt is available still so would hope that they realise they need a cm and one is being lined up or is to be announced soon.
We need to get behind the team - negativity will not help them get the result tomorrow we need to make it difficult for Solihull!

Re: Ryan Glover - 2 year deal
If we play 433 we have 2 midfielders Partington defensive And Glover offensive
so 1 more needed not 2 as back up we have Klass and Anderson. Hopefully a number 8
is on the horizon. At least it means we have to go all out attack and not sit back
especially at home ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.

As I said nothing against Ryan but not what is needed at present. We are about to kick off the season without one recognised midfielder at this level.....quite unbelievable really when you take a step back and think about it.JOELC26 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 3:36 pm Wow the pessimism before a ball has been kicked is unbelievable!!!! It's a fair point about "attack attack attack "
Start the home game going for it, get a new holding player in before Chesterfield

Re: Ryan Glover - 2 year deal
There will surely be another central midfielder joining - but maybe not by tomorrow.
Assuming that the Harris transfer happened quickly, MM may simply not have found anyone suitable to date. The assumption is that before Harris left other midfielders would be brought in but that cannot be proven.
You would hope that MM would exercise due diligence rather than rushing in and signing anyone, especially if there were no plans to bring anyone in before Harris left. We can ill afford to get it wrong, perhaps like we did with HP?
Molesley will be acutely aware of the state of the squad. To suggest he's simply overlooked midfield, like he's forgotten we're short there is just daft.
He's assembled a 20 man squad, there is youth in there, but that's quite a small squad and there ought to be provisions for at least 1 more player.
Maidenhead sold Kelly and got a nice fee for him. He hasn't been replaced yet either. In fact Maidenhead have barely got a striker. They're probably struggling to attract anyone half decent to join them.
Not only do we need to identify a decent player we need, but that player needs to want to come here too.
And if we are perceived as a struggling National League side, is a potential target prepared to drop out of the Football League or a higher ranking National League side to join us?

Let's not forget that MM is playing Parts out of position at CDM which adds to the problem. He looked lost at Havant last week. Two proper CDMs needed fast!

Partington ran the midfield against slough though.chimpster99 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 4:22 pm Let's not forget that MM is playing Parts out of position at CDM which adds to the problem. He looked lost at Havant last week. Two proper CDMs needed fast!

I'm happy for Ryan being back in the squad, I thought he was one of our better players but because of what we are missing I can't get as excited for this announcement as much.

What we need is Oberdorf the destroyer from Germany womens team totally useless but effective in stopping attacks. Perhaps she can be a transgender like Jonny from American Somoa in the film Next Goal Wins

We could do with Hemp though. Good player.Kingfield Shot wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 4:50 pm What we need is Oberdorf the destroyer from Germany womens team totally useless but effective in stopping attacks. Perhaps she can be a transgender like Jonny from American Somoa in the film Next Goal Wins
With Hemp, Bronze and Mead England could of opened a Medieval Shop

Thing tomorrow we just need to surprise Solihull and just hoof the ball up to Effiong and swarm the other 5 forwards round him and tell the back 4 to stay put and defend.
Solihull won't know what's hit em

1-4-0-5 formation

To be fair, I've watched matches where Solihull have done exactly that and battered us.Anon E Mouse wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 5:53 pmWe could do with Hemp though. A 0-3 home defeat about 3 years ago was exactly this, outdone by 3 long balls, and some big lump helped himself to the easiest hattrick he will ever score.

The two year deal seems a bit of a win.

Apparently MM wore number 8 in training on Thursday and is considering a player/ manager role until he can persuade ex Bournemouth man danny Hollands to put pen to paper
