Just for clarity….

Neil Smith joined me for comms tonight because I asked him to.

Whilst out of work, he is keen to keep watching National League football and he really enjoyed doing a couple of games towards the end of last season.

I love to have a professional voice alongside me whenever possible, hence getting Smudger, Moles etc in as well as other current & ex Shots players when I can.

Great victory tonight. Chuffed for everyone connected with the club.

C’Mon the Shots!

Fantastic performance, they all wanted it so much but now they need to build on tonight and get some consistency together especially at home.
That was a polished performance tonight.
Corrie Andrew’s my MOM, looks to me a good player developing and put himself about tonight.

Just had a look at the Southend fans forum and all the posts are incredibly similar to ours about the state of their club !! The manager will be gone before Christmas and the chairman is an egoist who needs shooting ! Well, that's "sleeping giants" for you !

Surely he must be turfed out before the fans forum takes place to save face for him.
Who knows? But something needs to happen - we're repeating the same old errors on and off the pitch.
Same errors? Seriously?
I worded it badly - poor individual errors on the pitch are repeated as a genre, albeit in different guises.
Makes life hard for the manager that's for sure.
Off the pitch, there are factions who seem to operate against each other - the BoD and the Trust for example. Politics gets in the way of progress. I don't claim to know the jns and outs, but it is obvious this is an area where cohesion would benefit everyone.
Seriously? Yes.

Thank heavens, three points. Certainly feel a little happier bunny this morning. BUT, I’m in no way a changed mind, that’ll only happen if made to eat serious humble pie.

I have another concern regarding Cambs Shot Rob, likes having a professional next to him when doing commentary....... does he think I come cheap? No mention .......
My fee goes up a few notches next time fella

At last!!!!

Huge praise to players and management for that result. Can it continue, though?

Excellent to get a win.

15 more needed.

I'm going to set the cat amongst the pigeons by saying I'm not that surprised we won at Southend - Danny Searle always manages to pull a positive result out of the hat when he's on the brink.

If we'd lost, the atmosphere at Thursday's fans forum would have been toxic, and the pressure on the BoD to sack Searle would have been overwhelming. This win eases that pressure a fraction and Searle will live to fight another day.

However, because we've been here before I fear we'll probably pick up no more than a point or two against Wealdstone and Halifax. Whenever we've taken one step forward under Danny Searle's leadership, we've inevitably taken two steps back shortly afterwards.

I'd LOVE to be proven wrong - over to you Mr Searle.

Let’s take a positive from last night, I’ve seen three games now.
Played well in two and played poor at home to Solihull.
For me they have to sort out their home performances and it’s clearly a confidence problem for me.
My 9 points from 4 games is still a possibility 😀
